When news breaks about some average celebrity’s faux pas it seems the entire world gets up in arms. It’s a different story, however, when it comes to the bad actions of trans activists.

The comparison isn’t mere speculation. In online discussion spaces, I’ve seen users arguing that “trans people have never hurt anyone.” Such arguments for the trans community’s innocence are also verbatim in book reviews attacking J. K. Rowling, and have made their way into opinion pieces published in major papers like The Guardian, as one author said: “The majority of trans people don’t want a fight, they want safety and respect.”
