About us

Why do we feel so disconnected from the world we inhabit? It seems that we are afloat on the currents of modernity, lost and drifting aimlessly to places unknown. It feels that we have no understanding, no control, and no concept of our destination. 

It shouldn’t be this way. It doesn’t have to be this way. It could be some other way, if only we could discover and articulate a solution. 

We aim to discover what is poisoning our societies and what the solution to these problems might be. Whatever is causing the rot eating into the heart of the modern world must be identifiable and able to be countered.  

The tools we use for this mission are as varied as the people who make up our organisation. We examine subjects through the lenses of history, philosophy, psychology, economics, literary criticism, common wisdom, and internet subcultural understanding. Collectively we have a wealth of experience in all of these areas, and we aim to share it with you as we uncover the problems and propose solutions. 

We don’t know exactly where this journey will take us, although we have some ideas. We are not revolutionaries, nor reactionaries, nor ideologues. We believe in the traditions which brought such grandeur into being and consider ourselves the inheritors and bearers of this accumulated wisdom, and so this is the position from which we begin when we examine the world around us; we begin where we are now and make our judgements from what exists and has been proven, rather than from abstract hypotheticals or dogmatic doctrinal edicts. 

To pass on to future generations those good things that we inherited from others is the mission of Lotuseaters.com.
