The recent online spat between Peter Hitchens and our own Carl Benjamin should mark the beginning of a new phase for conservative new media. Not in the sense that the torch has been “passed on,” because Mr Hitchens still has much to offer. The significance of the exchange rather lies in the fact that the growing consortium of disenfranchised conservatives, Carl included, not only found themselves at the ‘big boys table’, but that they also caught Hitchens off-guard on several occasions whilst they were there.
