Neither Labour nor the Conservatives have succeeded in ‘reading the room’ for the last half-century, that is if we are to believe that they have not outright refused to for whatever reasons they may have contrived. Whatever the case, the track records of both parties seem to suggest that there is no point in voting or paying attention to whether our MPs actually keep to their words.
