Bolivia today is in a dire political situation. In sum, as this is being written, a former interim president is held in prison together with two of her former ministers by a now-ruling party, the leader of which had been in exile for most of last year after having been Bolivian president for more than a decade. Both sides in this conflict accuse each other of terrorism and either sedition or staging a coup d’etat. So what happened and how did it get there?
