The lockdowns instituted over last year, which have been revived or continue to this day in many parts of the world, have represented an unprecedented blow to societies living under powerful states where they can be effectively enforced. They have had horrifying effects on almost every aspect of people’s lives. They have often been instituted seemingly without any regard for their negative consequences, with only lip service paid to the ‘difficulties’ that come with them or the ‘sacrifices we need to make’.
In such a context, many have begun questioning the motivations behind the lockdowns and the legitimacy of their imposition. They are starting to think that maybe the destroyers of our society should not be readily given the benefit of the doubt through the assumption that they have had our best interest at heart all this time.
