Libertarians Should Not Trust Big Business

Big business is typically seen as a friend of the libertarian movement. For those who champion innovation, property rights, and entrepreneurship, the leaders of industry are considered the ideal. But upon examination of the empirical facts of history, it becomes clear that the dichotomy of business vs state is not so clear. In fact, more often than not, the crony alliance between big business and the state hurts the middle and working classes the most. However, modern, mainstream libertarianism does not address this; one need look no further than the venerated Foundation for Economic Education website to find articles making excuses for big business interests. Why is this, and how has this happened?
